And now we are 4!!!

This one sums us up pretty well right now!!!

I can't believe it is already Saturday, wait technically Sunday now, and little Will arrived on Tuesday...time is FLYING!  And now for all the details that I know I will have forgotten by like next week if I don't write down!  Feel free to skip down to all the pics at the bottom!!!  I had my 39 week OB appt scheduled for Tuesday morning and my doctor had given me the option to be induced on Thursday.  All along I had been saying I didn't want to be induced and that I just wanted the surprise of going into labor but I must admit that Scott and I did seriously  consider it on Monday evening.  The whole practical side started to come into play and we were thinking about how it would be nice not to have to wake up Lauren in the middle of the night, or what would happen if I went into labor during rush hour etc.  I had decided I wanted to wait it out (mostly because I had a couple things I still wanted to do!) but I think Will must have heard our conversation and decided he was coming on his terms, because I started having contractions at about 11pm that night!  I had been 4cm dilated since the Thursday of the previous week so my doctor had told me that I should come in to the hospital when my contractions were 10 mins apart for an hour.  I called when they were close to that and talked to the doctor on call and she said I should wait a bit longer and drink a lot of water, take a warm shower and lay down and see what happened.  I did all that and from about 2am - 3am had 5 more contractions that were getting much more painful so at 3am I decided it was time to go!  We got Lauren up and brought her to our fabulous friends just down the street, the Vorreiters (Scott was seriously impressed with Sarah's peppiness at 3:30am...which probably doesn't surprise anyone who knows her!!!).  She may not have been quite so peppy by 3:30pm since Lauren never went back asleep ...we owe you Sarah!  We drove on to the hospital and my contractions were not too bad.  I was really hoping I hadn't jumped the gun going to the hospital.  Turned out we timed it perfectly; as soon as we got to the hospital my contractions were regularly 3-4 mins apart and I was definitely glad to be there and not on my couch or on GA-400!!  I was at 5cm when they checked me first and I asked them to order the epidural pronto...I'm not much into unnecessary pain!  Getting my IV in and getting the epidural were definitely the worst parts of the whole night.  It took the anesthesiologist what seemed like FOREVER to get the epidural right and of course contractions are only getting worse at that point.  Anyway, once all that was over it was seriously a breeze.  They let me relax for a while, Mom had time to get there, I may have snuck in a little nap, and then the nurses had me do one practice push at around 11am.  I think their exact words were "Whoa that's enough, let's get the doctor!".  The doctor on call that night was one I had never met but she was fabulous, and 4 pushes later out popped Will's head and I got to pull him up on my chest and just cuddle him for a good 15 mins!!!  It was so fast it was really surreal...all I could think was that this should be much harder!!  (With Lauren it was!)

We really enjoyed our time at the hospital.  It was just so much more relaxed the second go around.  At one point we were hanging out in the room and Will was sleeping and we were deciding what to go pick up for dinner and were thinking, this feels like a date! haha! Maybe we don't get out enough, but it really was just good quality time together!

Mom brought Lauren to come visit on Wednesday and oh my goodness she just looked like such a BIG GIRL all of a sudden.  She was so excited to meet Will...so sweet.  We've been home from the hospital since Thursday afternoon and are doing great just settling in.  It feels good to be 4!!!
Hanging out at the hospital...clearly a POST-epidural smile!

Lauren opening her present from Will...some diapers and wipes for her baby.  Her eyes got so wide when we told her that he had a present for her and she said "Thank you Will!"
