Because mama knows she won't remember...

...and she has no patience for baby books and scrapbooking
...and perhaps you are interested in some of the things I've learned since my 1st birthday (see, she already can't remember exactly when I learned them!)...

-1st word other than mama & dada - PLAY ...comes out as plah plah. No surprise that it was my 1st word as it is certainly one of my favorite things to do!
-2nd word - BALL ...I'd been saying this one for a while but mama didn't give me credit for it until I pointed to the picture of the ball on the bottle of suncreen and said it
-Already forgotten the order of the next words....but the one I'm saying the most right now is DOG. I like to point at pictures of dogs in books and hold dog puzzle pieces and of course point and play with (and terrorize) Lucy dog.
-DUCK..."Du"
-Bye bye and waving
-STAR...I don't quite have the ST sound so it's more like DAR but I'm consistent about saying it when i see a star so Mama says I get credit! Granny Eilis was trying to teach me all sorts of shapes this week....like trapezoid and trucated triangle but I think she gives me more credit than I deserve...of course that's what grannies are good for I've heard :-)
-Also MILK...comes out more like Mi, but I do the sign for this one so they know what I'm talking about...I don't mess around when it comes to food any more.
-Sign for Cheerios...of course! ha! (Please, More and Finished signs are much more sporadic...and more and finished are so similar you really have to look at whether I'm grabbing for more food or shoving it off the highchair to know which one I'm doing! I have my ways of communicating!!)
-We're working on learning parts of the body because apparently that is one of the things they ask us if I know at my 15 month doctor appt (thank you to Anna and Brandon for being born before me so we can learn these things ahead of time!!!) So far I'd say I know belly button and head...oh like 70% of the time, and arms and nose and toes maybe 40% of the time...it's slow progress but mommy tries to use it as a distraction from me pinching her while she changes my diaper. I kind of just prefer to pinch her and throw stuff from the changing table!
-This one MADE MAMA'S DAY yesterday. She was getting me out of the car to go to the post office and I saw her grab a bow to put in my hair and instead of trying to eat the bow I tried to put it in my hair :-)

Hmmm there is probably something(s) we are forgetting but Mama's going to come get me in a minute for breakfast and we probably lost most of you like 3 bullet points ago anyway so got to go. We're heading to you guessed it...the pool!
